Phone Number It Answers To
What It Actually Does

Real hands. On your machine.

It's Claude, the same AI engineers use to write code all day, wired into your iMessage, running 24/7 on your Mac with real hands on the machine. Text it and it can:

01

Answer and research anything

Send a question, a link, an article. It reads the actual thing and gives you the straight answer.

02

Do real computer work

Write and fix documents, organize files, dig through folders, build spreadsheets, draft emails you copy-paste and send.

03

Remember everything you tell it

"Remember my garage code is 4411", "my rate is $95/hr". It keeps a memory file and uses it forever after.

04

Keep your list

It maintains a priority board of what you've got going and where things stand.

05

Calendar and reminders

"Put it on my calendar" creates real events with alarms on your iPhone.

06

Stay alive on its own

A watchdog checks it every 60 seconds and revives it if it ever dies. Text !status for a health check, !restart to reboot it from your phone.

Locked to you

Only your phone number can talk to it.

It never posts, sends, or publishes anything anywhere without your explicit go. Everything it learns stays in plain files on your Mac. No cloud accounts, no API keys.

What You Need

Three things. That's the whole list.

ThingWhy
A Mac that stays onThe agent lives on it (iMessage is Mac-only)
An iPhone with iMessageThat's how you talk to it
Claude subscription, Pro, $20/mo (claude.ai)The AI brain. Your own account, your own login

A Mac mini in a closet is the classic move. It just needs power, wifi, and Messages signed in to your Apple ID.

Setup Guide

Six steps. Ten minutes.

01

Sign your Mac into Messages

Open the Messages app on the Mac, then Settings, then iMessage, and sign in with the same Apple ID as your iPhone. Send yourself a test text from the Mac to confirm it works.

02

Download and run the installer

Download the kit, double-click the zip to unzip it, then open Terminal (⌘-space, type "terminal") and run:

cd ~/Downloads/pocket-agent-kit && bash install.sh

It asks your first name and phone number, installs everything (including Claude Code if you don't have it), and locks the agent to your number.

03

Give it permission to read your texts

System Settings, Privacy & Security, Full Disk Access, turn ON Terminal. This is what lets the agent see the messages you send it. One time, done forever.

04

Log in Claude

In Terminal run claude, type /login, and finish the sign-in in the browser with your Claude account. Then press ctrl-c twice to exit.

05

Start it

Double-click StartAgent.command in the PocketAgent folder in your home directory. A terminal window opens. That's your agent, alive. It also auto-starts every time the Mac boots from now on.

06

Text it

From your iPhone, text yourself: "you alive?" and it replies in that same thread. If it asks about pairing the first time, type /imessage:access in the agent's terminal window and approve your number. That's it. You have an agent.

If something's off

  • No reply? Text !status. Still silent? On the Mac, double-click StartAgent.command again.
  • "FDA DENIED" in the terminal · redo Step 3, then restart the agent.
  • It says it's logged out · redo Step 4.
  • The watchdog texts you automatically if it ever goes down and revives it. Most problems fix themselves within a minute.
Add-On Packs

Six packs. All included.

This download is the full-run edition. The installer sets up all six packs for you (it asks once, hit enter). Here's what they do:

🎙 Voice Pack

Talk instead of type

Send voice memos instead of typing. The agent transcribes and acts on them. Rambling in the truck becomes a to-do list.

🔗 Content Vetting Pack

Real, hyped, or garbage

Send it Instagram reels, TikToks, YouTube videos. It pulls the actual transcript and on-screen text and tells you straight: real, hyped, or garbage.

☀️ Morning Brief Pack

Your agent, but proactive

A daily 7am text built from your real data: priorities, WHOOP, Apple Health, weigh-ins, reminders, whatever you feed it.

🏋️ Coach Pack

Every meal, every lift

Text it every meal and workout. It logs everything, tracks protein and calories against your targets, programs your lifts, and nags you when you slack.

📈 Market Desk Pack

An overnight research desk

It vets stock tips you send it, tracks a paper portfolio, and briefs you before the open. Research only. It never trades your money.

🛠 Business Pack

Estimates, invoices, follow-ups

Estimates, invoices, client drafts in your voice, job tracking, receipt photos filed straight to jobs and your tax ledger, and a Friday money chaser that drafts follow-ups for every unpaid balance.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Is my stuff private?
Yes. Memory, logs, and files live on your Mac. The AI processing happens through your own Claude account, same as using claude.ai directly.
What's the total cost?
The Claude subscription ($20/mo Pro). The kit itself has no service fees. Nothing else to subscribe to.
Can other people text my agent?
No. It only answers your number. Anyone else who texts the Mac gets ignored, and if they ask it for access it refuses and tells you.
How do I remove it?
One command, listed in the README inside the kit. Your Mac and Claude account are untouched.
